Steps for obtaining setup updates for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011

After installation or upgrading Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011, you can easily check for setup updates. Once you select the option to check for setup updates, the application will download new updates automatically and apply them to the installation when the setup process is into operation.

You may need internet connection for Microsoft Dynamics CRM server that allows you to select “Get updates for Microsoft Dynamics CRM” during installation process. If any new update is available, it will be downloaded and applied immediately to the installation.

But, what will you do if there is no internet connection? How will you manage to install new updates? Here are few steps you need to follow for manually installation of setup updates:

  • Then click on “Add” to include the updates to the basket.
  • To view updates in the basket, click “view basket” in the upper-right section of the web page.
  • Click on “download” for installation new updates.
  • Select the location where you want to save all your updates and then click “continue.”
  • The Microsoft Update setup will automatically create a folder by name of “download” and copies a .cab file into the created folder. You will find “Setup Update for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2011” folder in which you will be allowing to open .cab file (contain 25 languages supported ny Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server) to access the .msp files.
  • You can extract the .msp file to your decided location.
  • You need to create a Config.xml file for the setup process.
  • Finally, you can run the setup file in the configuration folder.
